No matter how great your product is or how best it serves people, unless it gets noticed and people start using it, its as good as if it is not there.
With all the experiences that i had with my interesting ideas after getting implemented, i used to wonder “Why are people not using it?” It took sometime for me to realize that
It is not important that how good your product is. what it matters is how good you marketed it.
Marketing also has some pitfalls. There are many products that failed even after spending a lot of money in marketing. Reasons for such failures can be many. The most important thing that every entrepreneur needs to keep in mind is to identify his target audience well in advance. I even prefer to say, that one should know who his product is going to be catered to even before he starts building the product because the knowledge about his customers determines what features are important and how each feature should be implemented.
Most of time, it happens so that entrepreneurs building their first product, come up with a beautiful product but end up with very few initial takers. Getting the initial 100-200 people use your product and get their feedback is the most critical part and it determines whether to go back to the garage, start rewiring the product or to get ready for the big leap.
But where will we get our first adopters. Many of us rely on our family, friends. The feedback or reviews that you get from them is most of the time determined by the impression they had on you rather than on your product. Hence i thought i will do a post on where entrepreneurs can find some early adopters, who criticize your product but give valuable feedback.
